The 99th Annual Meeting of the Physiological Society of Japan
Grand Chairman Satoshi Fujii
Yamagata University

The theme of this year’s tournament is “Dynamic Homeostasis-What Changes and What Doesn’t Change”.

The living environment has changed drastically due to the earthquake in the Tohoku region 10 years ago and the current corona disaster. Physiology has the idea of dynamic homeostasis, which tries to keep it constant, as well as dynamic homeostasis, which transforms and adapts to fluctuations. With various innovations expected, it seems that it is time to reaffirm the importance of physiology as a basic science for studying the foundation of human beings. I think that the firm deepening and activation of basic science will surely lead to innovation, so I would like to take this opportunity to think about physiology with everyone.

In addition, the 97th is a paper tournament and the 98th meeting is a web tournament, and we are considering a hybrid format because there are many hopes that we will make it a tournament where members can gather face-to-face in the situation where members have not gathered for a long time. .. With this as an opportunity, we would like to regain a place for people to interact and aim for a tournament where we can pass the baton to the 100th tournament.
